Transition To Success And Changing Habits
  • Transition is the most difficult time in coaching.

  • ●  The client is no longer in the old situation, but has not yet moved completely to the new situation.

  • ●  When you are in transition, you are in limbo and it’s normal for it to be very uncomfortable.

    How does the client get to be in transition?

    We make conscious choices only 5% of the time – the other 95% represents just doing things from habit.

    • Habits are what we do when we don’t think. Habits form our life stability.

    • ●  However when we want to change, our habits resist that change.

    • ●  When you want to change your life and get through the transition, you will need to change some habits and form new ones.

    • ●  What triggers a habit?
      you receive a stimulus which triggers you and makes you respond in a certain way. the stimulus can be anything: internal, external, visual, auditory, feeling, etc
      the response could be an emotional state and/or action

    • ●  From a coaching perspective, it does not matter if feelings that are evoked are good or bad. What matters is that they come from a habit.

    • ●  The first step towards change is to be aware of what you have in the present moment.
      An important part of coaching is to make the client aware of the everyday anchors in their lives, their every day habits.
