Most people will reach out to a life coach because they are not satisfied with their life right now, or there’s a specific area of their life they are not satisfied with.
-
● The discovery phase is the initial part of the coaching journey where the coach needs to find out where coachees are today and how they got there. It’s a conversation about where they are and the issues at hand.
-
● Then, comes the state of setting goals. Setting goals that your client will achieve is a key part of the coaching journey. Goals are dreams with legs.
-
● The role of a coach is to explore the present and design the future.
-
● A coach takes the client from where they are to where they want to be, giving them more choices and resources from their journey.
-
● The wheel of life is a tool coaches use to get a snapshot of how satisfied a client is in their life.
-
● There are 8 areas on the wheel, each representing different aspects of life.
-
How does it work?
Seeing the center of the wheel as 1 and the outer edges as 10, rank your level of satisfaction with each life area. Then, draw a straight or curved line to create a new outer edge.
The new perimeter represents the wheel of your life. It gives an overview of how balanced life is right now.
If this wheel were a tire on your car, how bumpy would the ride be?
You/the client may want to change the categories to best reflect the areas of one’s life
