Am I already looking after my self-care?
Am I already looking after my self-care?

https://www.startofhappiness.com/wheel-of-life-a-self-assessment-tool/

To help me identify areas I would like to improve in my life I decided to use the wheel of life as a starting point. I’ll start with Physical Environment and work clockwise around the diagram.

Physical environment - 7/10

I am grateful and feel blessed to be living in a relatively comfortably in a happy home. Only recently, I've decided to allocate some time over the next week to declutter and remove items I don’t need. I've always felt having too much unnecessary items in the house, negatively affects the overall environment. I wouldn’t class myself as a minimalist, but I like the principle of not having too much.

Business/Career - 6/10

As with personal development I am always looking at ways to improve myself in my career and business. As a qualified Life and Business Coach and Investor, I love working in both fields.

I am independent of having to work for other people and earning enough from my own businesses. For this I am currently working on a couple of projects and looking to now incorporate an element of coaching into these projects.

Finance – 7/10

I am happy with the amount of money I am currently earning. Although, one of the ventures is a short-term project, I am looking to build up other avenues to replace it’s income stream by the time it stops.

Health – 3/10

Working full-time, running a business, being involved in several projects and making sure I spend time with the family and friends means time is very limited. This has meant I am not as healthy as I would like to be. To combat this, I now have an accountability buddy/personal trainer who encourages me to go to the gym at least 4 times a week. We started this week and I have been ready at the gym for 7am, raring to go! With this in mind in 6 months time this score should have drastically improved.

Family and Friends – 5/10

Working unsociable hours has meant that time with extended family and friends have been limited. This is an area of my life I would like to improve on. I have brainstormed ideas of how I can achieve this and hope to try and implement this in the next few weeks. I always try to maintain priority in things I do with and for my family.

Romance – 4/10

I am single and currently actively dating and hoping to find my 2nd Mr Right.

Personal development – 7/10

I have always looked to improve myself. I listen to many interviews and training material to help develop my skills. I plan to take it to another level and start attending courses in person. I believe the physical interaction will always trump online/web-based training.

Fun and recreation – 8/10

I travel alot, meet more people from all over the world.

Spiritual and community – 5/10

These were not on the diagram; however, I feel they are an important part of who I am and who I want to be. When I had more spare time I used to do a lot more voluntary work, helping in foodbanks and with the homeless. Over the recent years this has drastically reduced, again due to time constraints. Helping others has always been my passion, and I would love to be involved in and do more for my community.

The aspects of my life I am working on:

  • Health – I want to be in better shape and live a healthy life and be active when I’m older.
  • Business and career – I have booked 3 months off from work and I will be staying at a lovely cabin until December. I will spend the time alone to recuperate and work on one of my main projects, which I hope to have ready to launch for the new year. January I will travel to my holiday home in Egypt. February I will be moving house to something more peaceful to focus on my projects.
  • Combining family and friends with fun and recreation, I am planning into my diary regular activities to make sure I enjoy life as well as working hard.
